It was a great crowd and a great time at Lee's Palace last night...so if you were one of the awesome people who came out to party with us, A.M. sends you a high-five in thanks. To receive your high-five, place your hand on the screen.........now. Well done.

Also, if you didn't get to see the band that went on before us, go find out when they play next. They're too young and too good to be ignored. www.myspace.com/thethundermonks

Cheers to the funky. - September 14, 2009

Thanks to all those who came out for a night of electro-funk madness at the Velvet Underground.  There was birthday cake, shirtless bassists, and a random drunken guy who took it upon himself to provide us with some impromptu lead vocals.  Nice.

I'm not dead. - September 1, 2009

A quick note to calm all my worried fans out there (all six of you):

Famous American Club DJ AM was found dead in his apartment in New York last Friday.

Not-so-famous Canadian Electronic Artist A.M. spent last Friday in his Toronto apartment watching the Cosby Show.

I didn't know my more famous namesake, but he seemed like an interesting guy; he was a survivor of both a plane crash and a relationship with Nicole Richie, and a former addict who was working on a reality show documenting his recovery. I'm sorry he didn't make it.

Here's his website: www.djam.com

Funk @ Velvet Underground - August 28, 2009

A.M. will be joining The Backbone Beat and Dr. dFunkt for a night of electro-funk madness at the Velvet Underground on Saturday, Sept. 12th. Check the calendar for details.

Cheers to all those who came out for an awesome party at the Rivoli last night. Your dancing makes our music look good. Apparently, we rocked so hard that we set off Tornadoes all over southern Ontario. Sweet. Thanks also to The Backbone Beat for a great opening set.

Big thanks... - January 16, 2009

...to all those who came out to the Wavelength show on Sunday, and the Hugh's Room show last night. We narrowly escaped a blackout that sank most of the city's west end into a deep freeze, but somehow, our side of the street was spared...which is a good thing, because an electro-show with no electricity would have been boring.

Two new shows! Two new downloads! One new year! - December 29, 2008

The news section has been a bit empty recently...so to make up for it, here's some stuff. First, two upcoming shows:

1. A.M. performs at Sneaky Dee's, as part of the Wavelength series. Sunday, Jan. 11th, 10pm. With Burn Planetarium and Gregory Pepper and His Problems.
Learn about Wavelength here: http://www.wavelengthtoronto.com/

Toronto's newest arts and culture magazine, Futureale, features a very detailed article on A.M. this month. Have a read:

Also, the Tranzac show on Thursday was super great. A huge thanks to all those who went, danced, and stayed around to chat afterwards.

New Remix - July 24, 2008

The new A.M. remix of NY-based folk artist Brandon Patton's song "Counting the Paces" is available for download on the music page. Enjoy.

Make Your Organ Dance - July 17, 2008

A.M. plays live with singer/songwriter Andrea Wappel, organist Marty Smyth, and others at the Tranzac on Thursday, August 14th.

Go back to the home page for details and a somewhat disturbing poster.

School of Rock - June 13, 2008

A.M. appears on CBC Radio3's latest podcast, called "School of Rock", in which they discussed people's memories of music class at school. They interviewed several teachers who do music on the side, including A.M.

Here it is: http://radio3.cbc.ca/blogs/2008/06/School-of-Rock-Special-Joel-Plaskett-Corb-Lund-Gonzales-all-on-Podcast-160

New Remix - May 4, 2008

More or Les is a Montreal/Toronto-based rapper who might be the most underrated guy in Canadian hip-hop. Honestly, I can't praise this guy enough...his lyrics flow beautifully, and unlike a lot of mainstream rappers, he's got something to say.

Go to the "Music" page to download the new A.M. remix of his song "Shooting People and Disrespecting Women", and have a look at his website here:

CIUT Chart - May 3, 2008

"Today Is..." has climbed the CIUT Chart to #5 for the week of April 29th, after entering at #17 last week. Industry insiders claim it's just a matter of time before it climbs so high, they have to invent a chart spot higher than #1...
